Turmeric Ginger Drink
"Root Juice"
Almost everyday, I enjoy a cold glass of this tonic poured over ice with a shot of maple syrup. We refer to as “Root Juice” that is shared amongst my close circle of friends.
Turmeric and Ginger is a powerful tonic that combined, provides an herbal antidote for a variety of health challenges.
Turmeric for instance, has been proven to address symptoms associated with inflammation, digestive problems including, skin issues, respiratory challenges, joint pain such as arthritis, liver disease and even depression.
Ginger equally aids in digestion as well as arthritis, inflammation and infection. Science has also proven that could assist in lowering risk of diabetes, cancer and other health problems. Including, ginger has also been noted as a fabulous antidote for liver detox and certainly helps to rid the body of toxins quickly.
However, beyond the miracle qualities of these two herbs, the “Root Juice” easily becomes a daily tonic that makes you feel good inside the body, especially when a teaspoon or two of maple syrup is added to ‘make the medicine go down’ in a more enjoyable fashion.
Once in awhile, I may add organic cherry juice (black or red cherry) or organic apple juice or even mango juice.
Certainly, save the pulp left over from grinding the roots and use it as a topical tonic for any skin condition or use it in my food preparation the calls for lots of turmeric and ginger, such as the Dal and Rice dish.

Directions
Begin with using your milk maker machine to grind fresh turmeric and ginger root. Use equal parts and makes sure they are cut into small chunks so that it is easy on your machine. Add equal parts of turmeric and ginger so that it adds up in total 1/2 cup. Then, add four cups of water to the nut milk machine. Blend well for approximately five minutes. Grinding up roots and nuts takes tremendous power therefore, the best tool for grinding up these roots is a nut milk maker. If you use a blender to pulverize the roots, there is a good chance that you could burn out the motor.
My favorite nut milk making machine is Arcmira. See below for product information.
After grinding the roots with water in the nut milk machine, strain the juice to remove pulp. for another recipe here
I use only filtered water for this root juice recipe. I have included links below for my favorite water filter system.
Next add a shot of maple syrup.
See below for my favorite product.
I like to store the Root Juice in a glass jar in the refrigerator and enjoy it served over ice as a refreshing daily drink.
